About Crissy

Educated in New Zealand under the mentorship of Professor Daniel K. Brown, one of the world’s leading architecture academics, Crissy holds both a Bachelor (Hons) and a Master of Interior Architecture from Victoria University of Wellington.

She built her career at internationally recognised firms including Warren and Mahoney (NZ), Jasmax (NZ), Woods Bagot (AU), and Gray Puksand (AU), before joining PreBuilt (AU) as a Design Manager and later establishing her own studio. With over 15 years of experience across commercial, workplace, residential, hospitality, and retail projects, Crissy has developed a holistic design approach that integrates the architecture–interior relationship, spatial proportions, and the interplay of colour palettes and materiality.

Her expertise covers the entire design spectrum, from strategic space planning and bespoke joinery to the final curation of furniture and decor. By overseeing every stage from layout to styling, Crissy ensures a cohesive narrative delivered with precision, transforming everyday spaces into extraordinary, functional environments.

Crissy is an Accredited Designer™ member of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and a member of The Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ).

Established in Melbourne in 2023, Studio Crissy Zhang is an independent interior architecture practice specialising in refined, narrative-driven spaces.

Our studio was founded to provide a dedicated and immersive design service. By balancing technical rigour with a boutique approach, we ensure that Crissy’s direct involvement remains the guiding thread that ensures excellence from the initial sketch to the final built outcome.
