About Crissy

Educated in New Zealand, Crissy holds both a Bachelor (Hons) and a Master of Interior Architecture from Victoria University of Wellington.

She has project experience across New Zealand, China and Australia, and built her career at internationally recognised firms including Warren and Mahoney (NZ), Jasmax (NZ), Woods Bagot (AU), and Gray Puksand (AU), before joining PreBuilt (AU) as a Design Manager and later establishing her own studio.

With 15+ years of experience spanning projects of varying scales across commercial, workplace, residential, hospitality and retail sectors, Crissy has developed a holistic design approach that considers the relationship between architecture and interiors, spatial proportion, materiality and colour.

Her expertise spans the full design process, from strategic space planning and bespoke joinery to furniture and decoration. By overseeing each stage from layout through to final curation, she creates cohesive, considered environments with clarity and precision.

Crissy is an Accredited Designer™ member of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and a member of The Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ).

Crissy Zhang Design

Established in Melbourne, Crissy Zhang Design is an interior architecture and design studio creating considered residential, hospitality and commercial environments.

Founded by Crissy Zhang, the studio brings together rigorous spatial thinking, material restraint and a highly personalised design approach. Each project is developed as a complete environment, from planning, proportion and bespoke joinery through to furniture, lighting and final curation.

Working closely with clients, architects, builders and makers, the studio creates spaces that are refined, purposeful and enduring.
