About Crissy
Educated in New Zealand under the mentorship of Professor Daniel K. Brown, one of the world’s leading architecture academics, Crissy holds both a Bachelor (Hons) and a Master of Interior Architecture from Victoria University of Wellington.
She built her career at internationally recognised firms including Warren and Mahoney (NZ), Jasmax (NZ), Woods Bagot (AU), and Gray Puksand (AU), before joining PreBuilt (AU) as a Design Manager and later establishing her own studio. With over 15 years of experience across commercial, workplace, residential, hospitality, and retail projects, Crissy has developed a holistic design approach that integrates the architecture–interior relationship, spatial proportions, and the interplay of colour palettes and materiality.
Her expertise spans from curating furniture and decorative elements to crafting bespoke joinery details—each project woven into a cohesive design narrative and delivered with precision and efficiency. She combines creativity, functionality, and aesthetic clarity to transform everyday spaces into extraordinary environments.
Crissy is a registered and accredited interior designer, and a proud member of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and the Designers Institute of New Zealand (DINZ).

Studio Crissy Zhang
Studio Crissy Zhang was established in Melbourne in 2023 as an independent design practice led by Crissy Zhang.
After more than a decade working within established international studios, Crissy founded her own practice to gain greater authorship over the design process, from early concept through to the final built outcome.
The studio was created to allow time, focus and care for each project, working closely with clients who value trust, collaboration and considered decision-making.
